THE FRENCH HOTEL - SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO CALIFORNIA

A PLACE TO STAY. A HISTORY TO EXPERIENCE. A LEGACY TO CARRY FORWARD.

Established in 1880, The French Hotel returns a historic San Juan Capistrano property to its original tradition of hospitality.

At its heart are the restored Manuel Garcia and Domingo Yorba Adobes—historic landmarks that have stood along Camino Capistrano for generations.

A Historic Place Of Welcome

MORE THAN A CENTURY OF HOSPITALITY AND HISTORY

The French Hotel first welcomed travelers to San Juan Capistrano in 1880. More than a century later, that tradition is being thoughtfully renewed—preserving the historic buildings that shaped the property while giving them a purposeful future.

THE RESTORATION

Restoring what was there. Thoughtfully adding what comes next.

The historic adobes will remain the defining presence along Camino Capistrano, carefully restored and returned to active use.

Behind them, new guest accommodations, gardens, dining and gathering spaces will be thoughtfully integrated into the historic property.

Original materials will be preserved where possible, while new architecture will respect the scale, character and story of the site.
